On Friday we had the pleasure of attending The Bristol and Somerset Wedding Awards 2018 at DoubleTree by Hilton Cadbury House.

The setting
We attended this prestigious event in 2017 and we were over the moon to have won the Highly Commended Award for Venue Styling. This year we were up as a nominee again for the Venue Styling category and up against some fab venue stylists from the South West.
The tickets came through with the announcement of this year’s theme which was ‘Hollywood glam’ – so we were super excited to dress up!
The big night itself
On the night itself we dolled ourselves up and made our way down to the venue! As we entered we were greeted by two of the South West’s finest toastmasters as we were guided through to the drinks reception. The drinks reception area was themed nicely and keeping with the theme using gorgeous props! This followed through to the main room itself – statement centrepieces, a grand Bafta style stage and props.

Throughout the night we tucked into a delicious 4-course meal and in-between each of the courses there were of course the 20 awards as well as entertainment and to end the night an auction followed by a DJ and entertainment.
We had the pleasure of seeing some familiar faces from the industry as well as meeting new ones too!

 

The awards
As the awards started to be announced, naturally it makes you nervous however we had such a diverse and talented range of stylists in our category so it could have gone either way. Each stylist has a different style and clientele which made it even more interesting!
And… our name was announced for the Highly Commended award! We are SO HAPPY to have won the Highly Commended Award for Venue Styling 2018 again this year!

We cannot wait to continue with 2018 and see what other exciting things it has in store for us!
